SIDELIGHTS: Pennsylvania-born screenwriter, stage writer, and mash writer Stephen Chbosky is also class author of the coming-of-age novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Cover this novel Chbosky opens a pane onto the depressed world of a-ok fifteen-year-old tenth grader named Charlie. Eventually Charlie explores the traditional teenage pursuits of sex, drugs, and dating, subside conveys his adventures through a progression of letters sent to an unspecified friend. Charlie's main relationships are reliable best friend Patrick, who is amusing, and Sam, a girl Charlie has fallen for although she is at present romantically involved.
