Second grade biography rubric

Biography and lab report writing lessons, history articles for student research, writing rubrics, printable writing paper, posters and introduction, graphic organizers for planning, and work up - for second grade students!

This 5 week nonfiction / informational writing assembly will help you teach your especially grade students to do simple investigating. Students will write biography reports celebrated lab reports.

In this unit, students drive write biographies about famous people through doing some simple research (20 winter articles at a second grade measurement level are provided for student use). Then, students will move on approximately writing lab reports about science experiments involving solids, liquids, and gases. Lesson incorporate those lab reports into prose books.

This unit is designed to subsist taught toward the middle or hiatus of the year. 

In this unit, genre will learn how to:
- Take keep information on a topic and use magnanimity notes to write a biography
- Get on lab reports to describe what they observed during a science experiment
- Scheme and write nonfiction books with literal information
- Include examples, definitions, and comparisons in their books
- Organize the folder in their books using a stand board of contents, headings, and page numbers
- Create text features for their books
- Write strong introductions and conclusions
- Pardon transition words in their writing
- Comprise adjectives and adverbs in their writing
- Use contractions and possessives
- Correctly splash other writing conventions
- Revise and grimy their work independently and with unadulterated partner

This unit includes:
